Short answer is No! Of course not!! It’s YOUR day, but here are some things you and your future spouse might like to ponder…
1. Do you really like it?
Do you and your other half actually like dancing in front of other people? If not don’t STRESS! Why not have a ‘bridal party’ dance so there are loads of people dancing with you.
2. We don’t really have a special song
You’d be surprised how long it takes some of our couples to decide on a song. In the end some choose to just cut the cake and let loose as a group, trusting the band with a song that will get people grooving.
3. Just not us
Again – this day is about YOU. Don’t do anything just because ‘it’s tradition’ – especially if it’s not who you are as a couple. Perhaps instead why not ask the kids attending to prepare a dance – they’re sure to love it!
First dances are often one of those ‘must capture’ moments by photographers and are something really special to look back on. Is this something you might want to show the grandkids.
2. Learn to Dance
‘First Dance’ classes are becoming an increasingly popular way for couples to spend time together in the madness before the big day. Why not get some professional tips.
3. Get the Party Started!
From a practical point of view – the first dance is invaluable in getting people to the dance floor. It’s a great way to get people in the dancing mood to celebrate your big day!
Popular Blue Flamingo Band Down Street had the privilege of playing at a beautiful wedding just over a month ago. The gorgeous venue was the Great Hall at Royal Holloway.

Press Release from Foresound Music:
“We are very excited to announce the launch of the very first Annual GIG LAB, launching this JULY 2015 in the heart of Winchmore Hill. I have attached a flyer to this email and would appreciate it if you could circulate it to your network.
Gig Lab is an Annual Workshop for Guitarists of Intermediate level.
Running for the first time in 2015, this 3 day intensive course gives local aspiring Guitarists the chance to learn from an industry professional in a creative atmosphere of the Winchmore Hill Friends Meeting House. Participants will learn how to improvise and carry themselves in a live performance, will get the chance to workshop a well known piece of their choice whilst working on improving their playing skills, and finally, will be given the chance to audition for a LIVE guest spot in Winchmore Hill’s best loved gastro-pub, The Kings Head.
The course will be taught by Phil Short, Professional Guitarist and Teacher, and is hosted by ForeSound School of Music. Phil is well known in the industry, having played on Radio 1 Live Lounge and numerous national tours with artists like Tyler James and ChipMunk. Down Street, a well loved central London function band will join us this year as our guest band; their members acting as audition panel.
Our favourite pop/jazz fusion pop singer and sax lady group have updated their repertoire list. See it below, or check out their website. Who knew Bruno Mars, Shakira, Stevie Wonder, The Killers and Frank Sinatra could make it all into one set? (Well, technically we did. But it’s still pretty delicious).
One of our epic party bands are playing at Floripa London this Wednesday 7th January 2014. Check out the Facebook event here and check out their website here. Playing all things pop, soul, motown, rock and all that’s in-between!
